What is Reiki?
What is Reiki?
Reiki is an ancient, extremely gentle non-intrusive complementary therapy. Rooted eastern health traditions, Reiki energy works with the body's natural electromagnetic field, with emphasis being placed on the main energy centres within the body. Reiki is usually a mixture of hands-on and non-contact technique (as a precautionary response to Covid-19, some alternations have been made regarding this for prioritizing client/therapist safety).
Reiki helps restore harmony between these energy centres and the nervous system, removing blockages, lessening toxins and kick-starting the entire system. Reiki is a natural and effective way to begin re-balancing and re-aligning what western culture so often separates: the mind, body and spirit. Reiki is renowned for is its promotion of feelings of relaxation and well being. Thankfully, mind-body connection and the influence of stress, emotional and mental discord on physical well-being has now become a well-accepted truth within our culture. Reiki directly works with physical ailments also, but the therapeutic effects of Reiki are believed to internally kick start our bodies to heal and re-balance.
What Can Reiki Help With?
Some people who have migraine, asthma, skin conditions, ulcers, orthopedic injuries, arthritis and chronic pain have noted improvements in their health after experiencing Reiki. Reiki has also supported some people who have various forms of cancer and other types of serious health conditions. Gentle Reiki energy is also very effective in calming the mind and have helped many with anxiety and depression. People suffering from low self-esteem may have also noted remarkable differences following treatments. Reiki and Bio Energy are completely safe to receive while on medication, while pregnant, or while having chemotherapy.
What to Expect at a Reiki Session?
Reiki appointments begin with a very informal consultation, to discuss general health, acceess energy levels and ppinpount any any ailments or health concerns, all relevant for mindfully getting the most out of the actual Reiki session. After the initial consultation, we move into the Reiki session. No preparation from the client is needed as the session is performed fully clothed, while the client lies on a comfortable plinth with a cosy blanket. Shoes are removed and clients can optionally bring a spare pair of warm socks for their extra comfort. I always have a few spare pairs at the therapy room just in case!
Covid-19 Precautions at the Therapy Room
Thorough sanitising and cleaning of the therapy room, and all equipment ia observed before and after clients, to protect clients and centre staff.
To protect all clients and the centre staff, any individual suffering from a sore throat, persistent cough or fever will not be permitted to access the centre or receive a session - I ask any booked clients to please notify me as soon as you can if you are displaying these symptoms for re-schedulling.
Due to relatively close proximity during the Reiki session, both therapist and client will be required to wear a mask. If you have your own mask you are very comfortable wearing (for up to 40 mins or so) please bring it with you - this is for your best comfort - disposable medical grade masks will be available in the therapy room.
For client and staff's added protection, all visitors will have their temperature taken by a contactless (forehead) thermometer.
